Radio Boredcast

By | February 20, 2012

Coming to you next month are 744 hours of “specially produced new and unpublished works, playlists and regular freeform radio shows, field recordings, interviews and monologues and much, much more”.

Radio Boredcast will be an online radio stream running continuously throughout March as part of this year’s AV Festival of art, technology, music and film. The project is the work of Vicki Bennett of People Like Us (whom Phantom Circuit interviewed in show 71) and is definitely worth your attention – for as many of the 744 hours as you can manage! Belying its name, Radio Boredcast promises to be a very interesting collection of shows and special features, as you will see from the schedule. Phantom Circuit has the honour of being a participant, as the stream is to include the editions covering Matmos, Charlemagne Palestine, SouthBank Gamelan Players and the installations at the Full of Noises festival.

BoredcastSee the People Like Us site for full details, including project information, the list of participants and indeed how to listen. See also the pages at the AV Festival site, and of course you can find out more there about the festival as a whole, which runs throughout March in Newcastle upon Tyne.
